Members of the CAYC Board are passionate supporters of the arts and arts education, and they believe in the mission of CAYC: to provide high quality choral music education to young singers in a fun, engaging environment.

CAYC Board members are expected to attend CAYC events and volunteer as needed. They are also asked to make an annual contribution to CAYC in an amount that is meaningful to them.
Terms & Meetings
CAYC Board members serve a term of 2 years with the ability to renew their term through re-election. The Board typically meets every other month, for 90 minutes, with a longer meeting in June/July for season planning. Most of CAYC work is managed through email and GoogleDrive.

Position-specific Responsibilities
President and Chair of the Board
- The President is the principal executive officer of CAYC and will supervise the business and affairs of the corporation. S/he will guide the operations of the Board of Directors as Chair of the Board and preside over all Board meetings.
- Presides over Board meetings
- Oversees the hiring and discharging of employees
- Executes contracts or other instruments on behalf of CAYC;
- Works closely with the Treasurer to maintain a sound financial standing for the organization
Secretary
- The Secretary records, maintains, and distributes minutes of the meetings of the Board of Directors.
- Organized

Treasurer
- The Treasurer is the custodian of CAYC funds and works closely with the President to ensure the organization maintains sound financial standing.
- Makes payments upon order of the Board of Directors
- Receives and records tuition payments, and follows up with delinquent accounts.
- Records and deposits all monies in the name of the Corporation in banks or other depositories as shall be selected by the Board of Directors.
- Keeps full and accurate records and presents financial statements at meetings of the Board of Directors.
- Prepares and files 1099-MISC forms for contractors and others as required.
- Prepares and files tax returns and annual reports as required by the IRS and NC Dept. of Revenue.
- Works with the President to maintain accurate records of donor information.

Fund Development
- Seeks, maintains a list of, and actively develops relationships with potential donors and grantors for the organization.
- Works with the Treasurer and Artistic Director to write complete grant applications.

Public Relations - Marketing
- Maintains a list of arts calendars, media outlets, and their contacts. Updates list every 6 months as needed.
- Publishes audition, performance, and special event notices throughout the year.
